COED MALE SCORING: Under NTSSA rules a male player is eligible to score if he:
Note: A male player may be outside the red line when the female player plays the ball as long as his first touch on the ball is in the offensive zone. He does not have to be in the offensive zone when she plays the ball to him.
Note that these rules are clear, and have any dark point. Common mistakes about it are: a) Allow a goal when the ball kicked by an inelegible player make contact with a defender an go into the net (many players and referees understand that as an autogoal).. b) Ball is on the red line when is kicked. Ball over the line is considered inside the offensive zone. There are locations that have a simple rule about male scoring: they can score anywhere on the field, even in the offensive zone, but they have a limit: usually not more than 3 goals per male player, and no more than 7 per male players in the team. (i.e. rules for Apex -Mansfield-, and Game On -Fort Worth). |
