THE LAST 2 MINUTES::

Sometime when the ball is out of play, in the last 2 minutes of the game, many players are claiming for stop the clock , but this is a rule that no all facilities are enforcing.

In fact, there are different rules in different facilities. Essentially main federations/associations have not a rule about that, and the clock is all the time running until game is over.

However, home rules bring a variety of situations, and different places have different regulations for the last minutes of the game: in example,

  • No substitutions allowed in the last 2 minutes (The Soccer Barn - Alpharetta, GA; Sports Park, NY).
  • No guaranteed substitution in the last 2 minutes (Ocean City)
  • Clock will stop with any whistle during the last 2 minutes of the game (APEX - Mansfield, TX).
  • Clock stopped at referee discretion (Wisconsin Adult Soccer League)
  • Clock stopped in the last minute at ref. discretion (UMBC, Maryland)

As we can to see players need to ask for the local rules about it.

Finally, North Texas State rules, United State Indoor Soccer rules, and Major Indoor Soccer rules make not mention of that.
